Yonkers Planning Board to Conduct Work Session

Yonkers, NY-- Yonkers Planning Board Chairman Roman Kozicky has called for a Work Session of the Yonkers Planning Board to be held on Monday, May 11, 2009, at 5:30 pm in the Planning Bureau Conference Room, third floor, 87 Nepperhan Avenue, Yonkers, NY.

The Work Session agenda will involve the SFC Downtown and Waterfront project plan review.

Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center Receives Yonkers Planning Board Approval

Yonkers, NY -- At its March 25, 2009 meeting, the Yonkers Planning Board granted site plan approval to Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center to build a 137-bed, specialty pediatric long-term nursing facility and affiliated school on a 6.5 acre site in Executive Park, in Yonkers, NY. Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center plans to break ground in July 2009 to construct a 4-story, 165,000 square foot center for pediatric medical, nursing, rehabilitative, palliative care, educational and home care services. The Center serves children from birth through age 21 with complex medical diagnosis and disabilities. It is one of only two pediatric nursing facilities in downstate New York, and the only one approved to offer services to ventilator-dependent children.

Yonkers Planning Board Recommends Adoption of Alexander Street Master Plan

Yonkers, NY -- The Yonkers Planning Board last night recommended the Alexander Street Master Plan to the City Council for approval. After more than three agonizing years of process, public meetings, environmental and design review it is time for the Councilmembers to move the process forward. The financial crisis has culminated with the Homes for America Housing project to no longer meet the timetable to maintain its interest in the Point Street Landing project. The responsibility now rests upon the Yonkers City Council.
