YONKERS, NY – April 17, 2013 -- The Yonkers Industrial Development Agency (YIDA) today gave initial approval to assisting construction of a 14 story, 220 unit, mixed-use residential and commercial tower on the site of the former Kimball Movie Theater on Yonkers Avenue just west of the Bronx River Parkway.
YONKERS, NY – July 11, 2012 -- A new hotel at the Cross County Shopping Center and the re-opening of a shuttered manufacturing facility on Central Avenue received assistance from the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency at its meeting today.

YONKERS, NY -- June 4, 2012 -- Yonkers Mayor and Industrial Development Agency (YIDA) Chairman Mike Spano today announced the appointment of Jesus Antonio Lopez as the YIDA’s new Chief Fiscal Officer. Lopez will join recently-appointed YIDA President and CEO Melvina Carter as part of the agency’s executive management team.
Lopez, a Yonkers resident, is a career banking professional who also holds a masters’ degree in management from Polytechnic Institute of New York University.

YONKERS, NY, April 11, 2012 -– Ellen Lynch, president and CEO of the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency received a call in the middle of the night demanding her resignation. She did so accordingly. An official announcement of her exit is pending. Even so, Melvina Carter, chief fiscal officer, is being spoken about, contemplated, if you will, as a replacement. At issue is whether Ms Carter is qualified with the expertise required for this important office or if her resume is chock full of "learning" garnered at "by the skin of your teeth" type circumstances demanded by deadlines. Another token wannabees will be detrimental to efforts of espoused transparency not realized under Ms Lynch and/or Ms Carter’s watch to their shame. The Yonkers Industrial Development Agency demands a person replete with professional credentials.

Yonkers, NY – Mayor Philip A. Amicone, chairman of the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency (IDA), announced that the IDA board approved a resolution to move forward with a public hearing and to negotiate an economic development incentive package for a $40 million expansion of the Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway. If finalized, the package will support Yonkers Raceway’s efforts to remain competitive while generating new economic benefits for the city.
