Must Finalize Skin Cancer Protection Standards
Washington, DC – On “Melanoma Monday,”
dedicated to awareness and prevention of skin cancer, Congresswoman Nita Lowey
(D-Westchester/Rockland) called on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to
finalize standards for sunscreen that will alert consumers of the protection a
product offers not just against sunburn-causing UVB rays, but against skin
cancer causing UVA rays.
