Fish are part of the county health
department’s West Nile prevention strategy
Westchester residents with ornamental
ponds will have a second chance to acquire a new weapon against an old backyard
pest.
Back by popular demand, mosquito-eating
minnows will be given out to residents on Thursday and Friday, May 16th and 17th, at the county
airport, from noon to 6 p.m. The health department will offer bags of free live
fathead minnows to help prevent ornamental ponds from becoming breeding sites
for mosquitoes that can carry West Nile Virus.

The telling by the Yonkers Tribune was sufficient for Dr. Rev.Jim Bostic to take notice. Mayor Mike Spano has in its first 16 months in office focused its efforts on repatriating funds borrowed but still outstanding.
