City of Yonkers Celebrates Hliday Season with Neighborhood Tree Lightings and menorah Lightings

Christmas-menorahYONKERS, NY – November 28, 2012 -- Mayor Mike Spano today announced the City of Yonkers is ushering in the 2012 holiday season with neighborhood Christmas tree lightings and Menorah lightings throughout the coming month. 

“What better way to spread a little holiday cheer in our great city than local Christmas tree and Menorah lightings,” said Mayor Spano. “I encourage our families to join in these spirited festivities of the season and celebrate together as a community.”

Santa Claus to Make Annual Appearance at Holiday Party for Developmentally Disabled Children

Hillview Reservoir Facility Site Venue for Alarm Systems Testing

Yonkers, NY, September 27, 2010 --  On Tuesday September 28th 2010 at approximately 9:00 a.m., the New York City Department of Environmental Protection will be testing their site wide alarm systems at the Hillview Reservoir facility within the confines of the 2nd Precinct.  This testing is part of their testing procedures and an alarm will sound for a one minute to five minute duration.  Prior to the alarm sounding there will be a message stating “This is just a test.”  Further information and concerns can be made by contacting Folashade Ogunyele, Chlorine Risk Manager at N.Y.C.D.E.P.  Her phone number is (718) 652-5705.  2nd Precinct residents in the area of the reservoir can also contact the 2nd Precinct at (914) 377-7452.

Klein Graffiti Clean-up Crew to Hit The Bronx and Westchester Streets

Klein_Jeff  Senator Klein’s ‘Graffiti Clean-up Crew’ Will Remove Graffiti Tags In Several Hard-to-reach Locations Across The 34th Senate District


New York, NY -- April 7, 2010-- On Wednesday, April 7th, as part of a Spring cleaning effort, Senator Jeff Klein’s (D-Bronx/Westchester) graffiti removal crew will clean graffiti on hard-to-reach overpasses, railroad bridges and buildings across the Bronx and Westchester.

The crew will target several sites including the Citgo gas station off of the Hutchinson River Parkway, Bruckner Expressway, Bronxdale Avenue, I-95 overpasses, Pelham Parkway overpass as well as the railroad bridges along Einstein Hospital and East Tremont Avenue. Klein’s crew will also clean areas in the Town of Pelham and the City of New Rochelle.
