Hon. Nick Spano Will Not Seek New York Senate Seat

Spano_nick YONKERS, NY -- After months of speculation, former New York State Senator Nick Spano today announced he will not run for the 35th State Senate District, a seat he held for 20 years from 1986-2006.

“I consider myself fortunate to have been given the privilege of serving the people of Westchester County for 28 years, Spano said. I started my career in the State Assembly as a 25-year-old novice and left as a senior member of the Senate Majority. It is something that very few people will ever experience, and I am profoundly grateful for the thousands of individuals throughout Westchester who remain loyal and supportive of me.”

A More Perfect Union Speech by Senator Barack Obama

Obama_barack Philadelphia, PA - Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

“We the people, in order to form a more perfect union.”

Two hundred and twenty one years ago, in a hall that still stands across the street, a group of men gathered and, with these simple words, launched
America’s improbable experiment in democracy. Farmers and scholars; statesmen and patriots who had traveled across an ocean to escape tyranny and persecution finally made real their declaration of independence at a Philadelphia convention that lasted through the spring of 1787.

Ralph Nader Announces Entry into US Presidential Race

Nader_ralph_2 WASHINGTON, DC -- Ralph Nader announced on NBC's Meet the Press that he is entering the U.S. presidential race resuscitating the fear of some Democrats that his candidacy would deprive much needed votes from their party. To this day, some contend that the recount of the Florida presidential vote in the Bush – Gore contest was lost by Gore due to Nader garnering 97,488 in his favor. While Democrats have never forgiven him for splitting the liberal vote, Mr Nader refused to accept that his candidacy may have handed the presidency to George W Bush.
