Benazir Bhutto Killed at Political Rally

Bhutto_benazir_3 Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan after ending eight years of exile and launching what she hoped would be a remarkable political comeback. Those plans  have died with her demise.

Pakistan opposition party leader Benazir Bhutto, a former prime minister of the nation has been assassinated in what was initially described as a suicide attack in the city of Rawalpindi only moments after she had concluded a speech to thousands of people. The suicide attack succeeded in killing 15 people at the gathering of mostly Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) supporters which was headed by Ms. Bhutto. An eyewitness has asserted that he saw Bhutto being shot five times. Bhutto was rushed to Rawilpindi General Hospital in an unconscious state. PPP member Wasif Ali Khan stated that Bhutto expired at 6:16 p.m. (local time).
