BREAKING NEWS: The Pressure Is On In Yonkers… Or Is It? Decisions, Decisions, Decisions By HEZI ARIS

Ehezi_charicatureYONKERS, NY -- August 31, 2012-- It took four days for the ruptured water main to be replaced and to bring circumstances back to normal, or so we thought. Instead of being afforded a sigh of relief and returning to the good old days, the Yonkers Tribune has learned that the water pressure is not what it used to be.  The cause is a faulty valve. THE HEZITORIAL: Mayor Mike Spano Fine Tunes the ‘Pay to Play’ Scenario on the QT By HEZI ARIS

Ehezi_charicatureYONKERS, NY -- August 30, 2012 -- Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano is quick to state, “It is too soon to assign blame…”, when asked who is to blame for causing a water main to rupture shortly after Noontime on Monday, August 27, 2012. The water main ruptured effected upwards of 100,000 people who reside and work at or near Southwest Yonkers. Yonkers Firefighters worked with due diligence to find and transport water from The Bronx to the City of Yonkers by laying connecting hoses from The Bronx border across the Yonkers City line. The Yonkers Police Department protected the fire trucks and hoses from being compromised, and protected the area about the work site where DPW crew removed the ruptured water main, replaced it, laid a concrete bedding for the new pipe to rest upon and connected it to the adjoining pipes. It was a gargantuan task that began on Monday and the reconstruction was completed on Thurday, August 30th.
