don't give a hoot about this event, but what do you mean there's no such thing as "first annual" If this event is intended to be an annual event and this is the first one of its kind, that it is correct. Your're not only bored you're stupid.
Posted by: youlivewhere | April 30, 2012 at 17:40
"to be described as annual, an event has to have happened in at least two successive years. The “intent” for an event to occur in subsequent years isn’t enough, thusly labeling the first event annual vs. first annual"
Guess you missed this in your Yonkers public school English class

from dictionary.com definition of annual:

2. occurring or returning once a year: an annual celebration.
3. Botany . living only one growing season, as beans or corn.
4. performedor executed during a year
From Merriam Webster:
occurring or happening every year or once a year : yearly
I don't know how anal you are and how many sites you surfed to come up with your own definition of the word, but you are a schmuck.

The phrase/word in question is "First" Annual.
You must have been quite the test taker in Yonkers public schools.

This is an excerpt from a University of Virginia paper which is self-explanatory. Please note that this institute higher learning uses the phrase "First Annual". I guess you know better, huh you tool.
