YONKERS, NY -- Calling him "the one, the only real conservative in the race," Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino today endorsed John Murtagh for Mayor of Yonkers.
"John Murtagh is the kind of conservative reformer Yonkers needs," said Astorino, who made the endorsement with Murtagh present at 11:30 AM today at Cook Field on Cook Avenue in Yonkers.

I hope the world is beginning to realize that the late Lanford Wilson was—is—a major playwright, and that his talents vastly exceed the two or three best-known efforts. So it is that the Keen Company is to be congratulated for reviving his 1970 play, “Lemon Sky.”
This relatively early work concerns how Alan (read Lanford), at age 17, left his good mother in Omaha to join his father, Douglas, who abandoned them when Alan was five to live with Ronnie--his mistress, now wife--in San Diego. Alan, now 30, narrates, but periodically steps back into the action as he recalls it, although there are scenes he did not actually witness.

YONKERS, NY – The Yonkers Tribune has learned the YFT has endorsed Michael Sabatino, Michael Meyer’s opponent without offering Mr Meyer an interview.
The YFT claims that the endorsement was made after members of the YFT sat in the audience of several community association Candidates’ Nights leading to Primary Election Day, on September 13.
Based on the answers and statements made at these local candidates’ nights the endorsement was given to Michael Sabatino.

Surely most of the world, including most Israelis, believe there will soon be a new formal State called Palestine.
However international law and the United Nations Charter do not provide or permit just any proposed nation to be considered a State in the UN, and certainly not a right to be a UN Member or observer entity with powerful enhanced rights. In fact there are many dozens of national territories, mostly quite small, that are not yet or may not ever be UN members.

I first met Mrs. Astor shortly after I became Mayor in 1978. A ceremony had been scheduled for the City to honor her contributions to the City’s efforts to get private wealthy charitable people to do what the City was unable to do – spend money on our many deteriorating buildings and in her case, the main library at 42nd Street, bringing it back to its once preeminent position in the City’s inventory of great public spaces.
