BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE: Senator Leibell Steps Down as New York State Senator By Hezi Aris
Yonkers, NY -- Vincent L. Leibell, representing the 40th Senate District, whose constituency reside within parts of Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties, has stepped down as New York State Senator. The Yonkers Tribune has learned that Mr Leibell has accepted a plea bargaining agreement worked out with the Feds. By accepting the plea bargaining agreement, Mr Leibell will avoid receipt of an indictment which had been held in abeyance by his accepting the deal. Anthony "Tony" Servino, who was a partner in the law office of Servino, Santangelo & Randazzo, is alleged to have implicated Mr Leibell as well as Anthony Mangone, who days ago pleaded guilty in White Plains federal court to conspiracy, bribery, extortion, and tax evasion charges. More information as it is revealed this Thursday, December 2, 2010. Anthony Mangone had at one time been an employee of that same firm.

I would like to see three questions answered:
1. If there is one less Senator can the Democrats pass things with a 30 - 29 plurality since Pedro Espada is a no show but has not resigned.
2. How will this effect the Putnam County Executive position to which Leibell was just elected.
3. Who is next to be implicated.

one less republican in the lame duck session won't
stop the senate from acting democrats still have
a majority of whats left...going forward after the
new year greg ball will be in leibell's seat giving
republicans the majority if the erie county and long island race stay republican which looks pretty sure
at this point...leibell will no doubt have to
resign as putnam county exec...he hasn't been
sworn in yet but presumably he will not be...necessitating a special election...as for who
is next...it depends what his plea deal is and what
he allocutes to...we have no idea at this point whether
this is a putnam county crime involving develpmemt
or whether it touches the voting machine contract
which apparently is being looked at as well

he protected his family. but why debate the issue? maybe greg balll will run for county executive? or maybe the sheriff. politics is great it changes everyday!

what do you mean "he protected his family"? Leibell is the one who has been committing corrupt acts for 20 years. All his family did was enjoy the spoils of the taxpayer's money.

1. so far no one has surrendered to the US atty
2. does anyone have any idea what forms the basis
of the charges..ie was it the house in putnam or
something else
3. how do we know tony servino implicated leibell
clearly leibell wouldn't both resign from the senate
and not be sworn in as county exec if something
very serious was not happening..I am simply wondering
why no one is a position to comment is commenting

You should know that Phil Sanchez, a former caseworker for Guy Velella and low-level Giuliani staffer, posted an altered version of this article as "Peter Gordon" on Urban Elephants, http://www.urbanelephants.com/index.php/component/content/article/64/3126.html
Phil is obsessed with Jay Savino, his personal enemy, and determined to destroy him
