Yonkers, NY, September 30, 2010 --  On September 28, 2010, the Yonkers City Council, by a vote of 4-3, approved a public nuisance abatement law that, regardless of conviction for such offenses, grants the police department the ability “to impose sanctions and penalties” for public nuisance violations that occur within the premises of any Yonkers building.

Yonkers, NY, September 30, 2010 -- On 09-29-10 at approximately 10:44 p.m., 2nd Precinct units responded to 651 Bronx River Road on a report of an armed robbery with a gun.  A 25 year old male city resident related that he was approached by two black males wearing black ski masks and black hooded sweatshirts.  One of the suspects displayed what appeared to be a gun and the victim was thrown to the ground.  The victim related that he was then struck in the left temple with a firearm, and his cell phone and keys were removed.  The suspects then fled southbound on Bronx River Road in a black SUV, which was driven by a third male.  2nd Precinct units canvassed the area with the assistance of the Westchester County Police Aviation Unit, but the suspects were not located.  Anyone with information can contact the Yonkers Police Detective Division at 914-377-7724.
