 Larchmont, NY -- "Kirsten Gillibrand delivered coal in the stockings of New Yorkers this morning by voting for a healthcare bill that will cost us more than a billion dollars every year in lost Medicaid funds, according to Governor Paterson. Mayor Bloomberg warned that the bill could force hundreds of healthcare facilities across New York City to close.  Yet Senator Gillibrand cast the deciding vote for the bill, despite its impact on New Yorkers. It begs the question: Who does Kirsten Gillibrand work for, Harry Reid or the people of New York State?  Sadly, that question seems to have been answered this morning."

Santa Claus Visits Yonkers

 Yonkers, NY -- In the guise of Santa Claus, Nick Stanich, Manager of Community Relations at Hudson Health Plan, was on hand to deliver presents to hundreds of needy families at Yonkers Mayor Philip A. Amicone’s Annual Toy and Coat Drive, Dec. 22nd, at City Hall. Each family received a present from Santa and a goodie bag from Hudson Health Plan, a provider of free and low-cost health insurance. The New York Giants (7-6), hoping to make the playoffs as a Wild Card team visited Washington to take on the Redskins in an NFC divisional game that could have either derailed or propelled the Giants’ express. The Giants came into the “Monday Night Football Game of the Week” having won 2 out of the last 3 games and needed to continue their wining ways to keep their playoff hopes alive.

 The Journal News’ reporter Ernie Garcia today published the article in which he divulged that the New York State Department of Civil Service, by inference, validated the position taken by Councilmember Joan Gronowski as they criticized Yonkers for having 36 provisional appointees to Civil  Service jobs who have not demonstrated fitness to serve by passing a competitive exam.
