Yonkers, NY -- The UNOFFICAL vote count tallied so far is courtesy of acid-tongued bloggers in the know. Yesterday, night's (November 13, 2009) count ended with incumbent Yonkers City Council President Chuck Lesnick holding a 99 votes lead.
The absentee / affadavits for the 9th and 10th Wards should be scrutinized by Monday afternoon. There are 89 total votes at question.
Republicans have challenged 70 ballots and are shamelessly challenging disabled voters, such as may be found in nursing homes.
The Westchester County Board of elections will not divulge any figures until the recanvassing has been completed.
While there is a possibility for challenger Jim Castro-Blanco to pull out a win, the plausibility of such an outcome seems slimmer than when the process began.
The math is leaning toward Lesnick.
