Yonkers Police Department Blotter - September 30, 2009 By Detective Sergeant Patrick McCormack

Yonkers, NY -- On 09/30/09 at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the 3rd Precinct responded to the area of Morris Street and Livingston Avenue on a report of shots fired.  A 19 year old male area resident related that while walking northbound on Livingston Avenue towards Ludlow Street a shot was fired.  According to the victim, he initially did not realize that he had been shot.  The victim sustained a single gun shot wound to his left ankle.  Anyone with information can please contact the Detective Division at 377-7724. 

 

On 09/30/09 at approximately 4:55 p.m., 3rd Precinct officers responded to 41 Morris Street on a report of shots fired with a male down.  Responding units located a male victim lying on the southwest corner of Morris Place at Morris Street.  Officers at the scene immediately provided medical assistance to the victim, who appeared to have a gunshot wounds to his chest and back.  Empress Ambulance transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.  The victim was later identified as Tyrone Stone, an 18 year old male who resided at 284 Riverdale Avenue. The Detective Division is investigating this incident and anyone with information can please contact them at 377-7724.

The detctive division is actively investigating any connection between the above two incidents and no further information will be released at this time.
