Yonkers, NY -- On 10-25-09 at approximately 04:20 a.m., two males wearing masks entered the 7-Eleven at 471 McLean Avenue. One of these males was armed with a rifle and the store clerk was instructed to open the register. Money was removed from the register and the males fled from the store. The suspects were both described as wearing black hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans and were reported to be approximately 5”10” in height. The Detective Division is investigating this robbery and anyone with information can please call 377-7724 if they have any information.
On 10-24-09 at approximately 11:24 p.m., 2nd Precinct units responded to Cox Avenue and Old Jerome Avenue on a report of a robbery. A 21 year old area resident related that a male grabbed her from behind and instructed the victim to hand over her property. A second male then took a purse from the victims shoulder. Both suspects fled eastbound on Cox Avenue and were subsequently observed driving away in a dark colored SUV. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects but they were not located. On October 22, 2009 at approximately 12:15 p.m. 10-15 males were observed arguing in the Cacace Center Parking Lot. The group was dispersed which divided into two separate groups both walking toward the Chicken Island Parking Lot. Police followed the group and a short time later several shots were fired from the Chicken Island Parking Lot. Police initiated a pursuit chasing the shooter into an apartment at 7 Schroeder St. Recovered was a defaced .380 caliber handgun with a spent shell casing jammed in the cylinder. Also recovered was an empty magazine. Police arrested a one: Darryl J. McFadden, DOB – 6/26/89, of 1 Glenwood Ave., Yonkers. McFadden was charged with CPW 2*, Burglary 1* and Reckless Endangerment 1*. No photo of McFadden will be released.
