Yonkers, NY -- Yonkers Firefighters Local 628- IAFF once again has endorsed Janet DiFiore, this time for re-election as Westchester's District Attorney. DiFiore has had the union's support each time she's run for elective office, dating back to her first run for County Court Judge in 1998. The Yonkers Uniformed Fire Officers are also supporting the District Attorney this year.
Barry McGoey, Vice-President of Local 628, said the union made the right endorsement four years ago, and they look forward to having DiFiore as District Attorney for the next four years, "to prosecute crime and keep the citizens of Westchester County safe." McGoey also mentioned the recent tragic death of a Yonkers Firefighter, saying "Janet and her office have been there for the firefighters and the families."
Lt. Robert Masick, the President of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association, "We know we can count on the District Attorney's Office to stand behind us when we do have the tragedies we do have happen."
DiFiore said she was pleased and proud to accept the endorsements. "I want to thank all of the members of both unions for their confidence in my ability to lead the important work of the District Attorney's Office. And of course I thank each of the members for their unwavering commitment to public safety and the marvelous and brave work that they do every single day, keeping the people of this city safe and secure."
