Yonkers Police Department Blotter - September 25, 2009 By Detective Sergeant Patrick McCormack

Yonkers, NY -- On 09-27-09 at approximately 4:54 p.m., members of the 3rd and 4th Precincts responded to 40 Cliff Street on a report of shots fired.  A description of possible suspects was broadcast by responding units.  Sergeant Daniel Treacy and Sergeant Lawrence Block canvassed the area and observed a suspicious male enter a yellow taxi in the area of Prescott Street.  The vehicle was stopped by the two Sergeants and they observed four males inside of the vehicle making suspicious movements.  Two handguns were observed inside of the vehicle and four occupants sitting in the rear of the vehicle were subsequently placed under arrest.  A loaded .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun and a loaded .32 caliber revolver were recovered inside of the vehicle.  The .45 caliber handgun had been reported stolen out of Indianapolis.  One bullet hole was located in a vehicle on parked on Cliff Street and a second bullet hole was located in the window of an apartment on Cliff Street.  Officers also recovered a shell casing at the scene.

Suspect #1 – Anthony Ford, a 16 year old male who resides at 5 Angelo Place in Port Chester was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. 

Suspect #2 – Londre Smith, a 17 year old male who resides at 1 Glenwood Avenue was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th. 

Suspect #3 – Mequan S. Irrizarry, a 16 year old male who resides at 2 Schroeder Street was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th.   

Suspect #4 – a 15 year old male was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th.  

The three adult suspects will be arraigned at Yonkers City Court on 09-28-09.  Suspect #4 will be arraigned at Yonkers Family Court on 09-28-09.  

NO PHOTOS WILL BE RELEASED IN RELATION TO THE ABOVE ARRESTS.

On 09-26-09 at approximately 6:06 p.m., members of the 3rd Precinct responded to the area of 41 Linden Street on a report of a shots fired with a male shot.  Responding officers located a 31 year old male area resident with a gunshot wound to the back.  The victim related that he was in an argument with persons known to him on the street.  A short time later a male fired shots toward a crowd gathered on Linden Street, and the victim was struck once in the back.   The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.  A second male was located with a bullet fragment in his shoe and he refused medical attention at the scene.  Officers at the scene located shell casings and bullet fragments.  The possible suspect who fired the shots was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” tall, and wearing a green long sleeve shirt with grey sweatpants.  Anyone with information can please contact the Detective Division at 377-7724.
