"It is a shame that this race is not conducted in the appropriate manner – with respect and integrity. There is no room for dirty campaign tactics. I don't want to this to happen at the polls on primary day. I want to ensure the voters a safe and intimidation free election atmosphere where they will not be afraid to come out and vote regardless of whomever they support. Everyone has the right to exercise their right to vote," Annabi continued.
"The Justice Department has successfully intervened in the past and I am hoping the people of Yonkers will have their assistance in securing the race against any problems. I want to make sure everyone's voice is heard and ensure the public that the polls will not be manipulated in any way. We want a clean, open and honest campaign that will encourage the public to take part in the democratic process. Too often, politics devolves into a dirty business and we should do all we can to try to restore the public's confidence," Annabi concluded.
