In Memoriam: Abe Cohen
It is with deep regret that we advise you of the passing last night of the beloved Coyne Park Rifle and Pistol Range officer and instructor, Abe Cohen.
Abe had a smile for everyone he met, always going out of his way to assist visitors to the range in any way he could. He will, indeed, be sorely missed not only by his colleagues but by all those whose lives he touched.
Memorial services are at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Febrary 27, 2009, at Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 1652 Central Park Avenue (1 block north of Tuckahoe Road), Yonkers, NY 10710. Telephone: (914) 793-3800.
abe taught me how to shoot my .38 at the range... he was a great resource to all shooters in the city of yonkers who use the coyne park range and he will be missed !!!

Abe was a member of the Greatest Generation- a war hero who fought in the Pacific during the Second World War. A straight shooter in every sense of the word, a kind man who taught thousands of people over the years to safely use and enjoy firearms and the shooting sports.
I'll be making a contribution to the NRA in his name. My guess is he would have wanted that.
We'll all miss you, Sir. May G-d bless you.

A very few people have a certain glow about them; Abe was one of those few. He was very kind to me, and I am very saddened by this news.

WW II vet, cowboy, shooter, instructor, dad & a gentleman.
Abe had a lot of great stories. His transition from here to the hereafter was shockingly rapid.
His passing is our loss.

My condolences to Abe's family.
I feel so fortunate to have known Abe. He was my refile instructor, and he taught me well. He used to say, "I create monsters."
I will never forget him and his kind spirit.

Abe first taught me to shoot the correct way.He then taught me to always be a man that acts with honor in all his dealings. Most recently he taught me to be a Range Officer and Instructor.I can only hope to live my life with half as much dignity and gusto as he lived his and to be half as good a RSO and Instructor. We will always keep your spot in Port#1 open
