Amicone is a total loser that is out of touch with reality and the City of Yonkers. The guy really thinks that he is a dictator and that he doesn't need to consult with anyone or compromise on any issue.

How long does it take Yonkers citizens to truly realize the outrageous and incompetent person we have as a Mayor. Yes, I could not agree more he is the worst in several years history and even makes Spallone and Zaleski look darn good.

well, the hounds are out, and they look for their prey. Who set this game in motion? Who stated on Hezi's radio program, "Why is SFC even the developer we have in Yonkers? I would rather look for others, and how did we get them...." which is quite a position to take when we are years down the road towards approvals for a great future in the city. And SFC is the highest caliber of developer, their work will be LEED certified, and they've reached out to the community - Joan never came to any of the meetings. For years. And now she wants to be invited to meetings about SFC? What?
The open meeting requirement doesn't apply here - the sessions are small. And I've heard she has 3 people on the Green Policy Task Force and other council districts aren't represented at all....what's up with that imbalance? If that's true, she's never objected to that, so how genuine is her "outrage."

If you put a fluorescent bulb in the unused locker room of that ridiculous stadium you can get LEEDS certification. SFC reached out to manipulate the public process, not to be gracious partners.

To the above poster 10:59 Don't let the facts get in your way. Joan does not have three people on the GTF. They were all appointed before Joan even got there. "Joan never came to any of the meeting for years" Duh! Joan has been on the city council less than a year. So get your facts straight before you start running your mouth. Typical "city haul" stupid.

Hundreds of citizens came to the SFC meetings but Joan never did. She also never came to city council meetings when SFC was the topic for years. Now she starts off as a councilmember and declares she's not satisfied with the SFC process that's been going on for years - was she ever part of it as a citizen before getting elected? Her position is that she's not satisfied. No development is ever 100% satisfactory to all parties. But for her part, she's voting no. That means she doesn't support it. Perhaps the sessions with the mayor are for those councilmembers who are encouraged by positive aspects of SFC and would endeavor to improve on the project in a constructive way for the benifit of the whole city.
As for the Green Task Force, it appears 3 people are on it from Joans district, leaving other districts out. So, she's never fussed about that, since the three are always protesting SFC in so many ways, even out on the street. But Joan will quickly criticize other imbalances (it doesn't matter to her who appoints who) when it isn't agreeable to her perspective.

She's remarkable in so many ways, and yet there's a thrashing quality to her representation, when she could be more diplomatic. She has a good heart, and good luck to her.

Maybe she never came to those preliminary meetings because she was busy seeking other sources of making a living since being fired by the City of Yonkers in her middle age. The quality of life in this city has suffered in deference to all things SFC. The city is a mess, period. I believe she said she goes to all committee meetings to participate in all things going on in the city. I guess you feel that anyone who doesn't vote for this project should be deprived of the key information, just the same. Talk about your iron curtains. Furthermore, the three people you reference as being from her district and serving on the GPTF were ALL appointed before Gronowski took office, and all by other councilmemerts. I guess she should be blamed and ostracized for that too.

As far as the meetings go, when your dealing with a shithead like Amicone what good does it do? This man has no respect for the people. He is a 17% mayor and thinks he has a mandate.
The country is in a fiscal meltdown and you think Yks. is immune. Get it straight Obama is the messiah not Amicone.
