Great community newspaper.
Keep up the good work

Yes, nice job. This paper continues to improve, like the Home News and Times is also doing. Both papers make a contribution.
They more than make up for that other weekly rag.

JN.......dont do it Chuck, it will seal you fate in 3 plus years!!! If you want to run for Mayor 87 nep has to go. Its a gross old building. Your an obstructionist if you do this!
Posted by: | September 03, 2008 at 04:54
Chuck you know SFC wont move forward with this, and you talk in WBJ about finishing this project but now you want to landmark 87 Nep knowing this will ruin this project?
What's your deal man??? Do you really pander to the obstructionist? Is the real estate commitee meeting yet after 2 months off??? What a joke my man, you run a great council...I can't wait to see what you go no where campaign for mayor end up after Yonkers never forgets you did this.

thank you 4:54. This is outrageous! I read the article and am boiling. That activist has railed against all new construction in the whole city. Once she even said, "This is just too much!" when she saw some construction going on in her neighborhood. Keeping things at a standstill suits her just fine. She needs to move to some little hamlet where nothing at all happens. Urban improvements drive her crazy, so she HAS to demand that it all stops!! Let her work in that building everyday and get sick in it. It's a total dump. She's in la la land.

I wonder if she even wrote the application or was it someone else?
Posted by: | September 03, 2008 at 12:32
The person who wrote the landmark application is part of the Dierdre Hoare/Terry Joshi/Loretta Miraglia/Molly Rothman/Nortrude Spero group. They were once together as the "Green Team" and wanted all developments to stop. Now, they are all on the Green Policy Task Force, with Joshi and Spero not living in the districts of the council they are meant to represent. They pushed their way onto the task force anyway. Hoare and Taffy Williams (the petitioner for landmarking) attend Task Force meetings frequently but were not appointed. Anyone may attend the meetings. So, here we are. Going green doesnt mean stop developments - some on the task force are balanced about it (none who are listed in this comment, however).

UNIONS protesting Ridge Hill Today. RATner not using Union Labor as promised.
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 10:52
Does anyone really think anything Amiclown does is to benifit Yonkers????
Posted by: | September 04, 2008 at 11:22
who knew about this non-union business at RH and why has it been kept quiet? Not the first time the IDA has used non-union workers, they did it with Nissan on CPA a couple years ago.
This piece of RH Ratner sold off, what did it cost and what did he get for it?
I think some citizen should buy a case of K-Y and send it to 40 South Broadway, 2nd and 4th floor, they are going to need it.

It was well known about RH that pieces of the land could be sold off -- Barbato asked these questions. As well as the union worker questions.
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 10:35
Where is Barbato by the way?
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 11:00
