American Doctor Murdered in Pakistan Written By Hezi Aris
YONKERS, NY -- Dr. Abdul Mannan Siddiqui, an American doctor, was murdered in Fazl-i-Umar Medical Centre, the hospital he founded, in Mirpurkas, situated in the Sindh Province of Pakistan. Allegations are rife that Siddiqui was murdered for abiding by the tenets of the minority Islamic sect known as Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (AMC) to which he belonged. Death threats are claimed to have increased upon his life days before the targeted murder of him. Since 1974, after a 21 day national debate to garner political clout over the majority of people in Pakistan’s divergent tribes, and under the aegis of then Prime Minister Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto, it was declared that the sect did not abide by Islamic Law and would not be considered following the dictates of the Koran, the Holy Book. The meeting took place under executive session and the proceedings were then sealed for 20 years.

Ten years later, in 1984, then Prime Minister and General Al Haq Zia expanded the tyranny over followers of the Ahmadiyya Muslim sect admonishing them that should they utter, or write anything that mentions the name or Allah, even colloquial greetings, were subject to three years imprisonment with no option for bail. The persecution of the AMC community continues to this day, with the murder of Dr. Siddiqui another example of these wanton acts of violence against a sect that is looked upon with jealousy. The sect has thrived despite the persecution, nurturing a learned populace, successful and businesspeople
Dr. Mannan Siddiqui murder cames just days after the thirty-fourth anniversary of the passage of the Second Amendment to Pakistan's Constitution, which declares members of the AMC to be non-Muslim. One day prior to Dr. Siddiqui's death, Geo TV, the most viewed television channel in Pakistan, aired a special program celebrating this Amendment and incitingreligious hatred and intolerance toward AMC.
Dr. Siddiqui, 48, is survived by his wife, son and daughter. He served the AMC in Pakistan as
the Regional President in Mirpurkhas, Sindh. A selfless humanitarian,
Dr. Siddiqui often provided free medical treatment to those who could
not afford it.

HA HA!

Let the new government take note. Any government that does not have the courage to cancel General Zia ul Haq's last remaining Marshall Law Ordinance should resign.

No Pakistani Political, Civil or other power can undo the notorious anti-Ahmadiyya Ordinance XX or the constitutional amendments made by Z A Bhutto declaring Ahmadiyya Community as non-Muslim. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is deprived of freedom of religion guaranteed by UN Charter as well as by Constitution of Pakistan. Why? Simple answer is that they follow blindly blood thirsty, hate mongering mullas and lack courage to stand-up against them. They have even blocked access to website thepersecution.org that carries persecution news.

What a sad day. A country decides to systematically kill off the hand that is helping them. Ahmadis are a peace loving tolerant group that preach non violence and love of humanity and human service. Thank you for bringning attention to this issue.

Very interesting. Need to know more. Was there something about this in the Human Rights Watch network? The Pakistani villagers can be barbaric, rejecting any changes to their percieved right doctrins of faith. But it's the ones who are free of doctrin that usually have a deeper faith.
Best wishes to the doctor's family. Good to use this site for some human rights watch sort of things, Hezi.

Love for All and Hatred for none. Is the mission and goal of every Ahamdi Muslim. It is very painful to go through this persecution period, but God love those and be with them who keep on serving HIS creation to seek HIS love and favour through steadfastness and keep on doig good work. Our heart aches and our eye shed tears in pain, but we promise to keep on serving HIS creation and seek Strength from HIM. Our beloved prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) spread the message of Islam though love and compassion and we Ahmadi Muslims are the torch bearer of his message today. May God help us to go through this difficult times and show the wisdom to those who are distorting HIS message.

What a sad day in the history of Pakistan. In Pakistan religious extremist are increasing day after day. They are killing people who are helping mankind. At the same TV channels are also helping these Islamic Extremist who are killing people. Geo TV is a TV channel which is promoting Violence and Religious extremism in Pakistan. Geo had shown a program one day before murder of Dr. Abdul Manan Siddiqi in which Islamic Extremist have said that Ahmadi People should be killed. Its all because of that program that religious terrorist become active against Ahmadis. I think now USA and all European countries should pay attention to the religious extrmism in Pakistan. Pakistan is promoting hatred for Ahmadis not only in Pakistan but also in other Muslim countries. I think Government is involved in promoting Religious extremism in Pakistan. All of these religious Institutes (Madrasas) should be checked and monitored carefully. These religious institutes in Pakistan are factories of terrorists. Also Geo television and other news channels should be monitored. Government of Pakistan should put restrictions on TV channels in Pakistan which are promoting religious extremism in Pakistan.

I would like to say to the people who have time to mock this and nit pick that life is very precious we should be respectful.Think for one minute how this merciless killing left behind a widow and two children and many patients who he was healing. The management of GEO TV should be very careful who they hire and what message they are giving to the public. They are spreading terrorism and hatred instead of message of peace which is the true meaning of Islam.I fear that we are creating a gothic like religion for the youths of tomorrow.Ahmadis seem to be a peace loving sect and are busy propogating the message of Islam in the true sense. My prayers go out to the doctors family and a resoultion should be passed soon to stop these killings.

But Ahamdi community is doing proganda to tell the world that he was killed by Muslim flate out Lie.

(For Non-Ahmadees)Ohh you people for GOD sake think deeply that what you people are doing? If that muslim was killed by Ahmadi (GOD knows). Ahmadees claim that there slogan is LOVE FOR ALL HATRED FOR NONE is right but ahmadees are also human beings. I as an Ahmadi know that we are right and are on the slogan but as a human being if someone go astray then you won't call the total JAMAT as wrong. If you call then you have to call ISLAM the wrong NAUZUBILLAH. Why because there were some muslims who went to HAZRAT MUHAMMAD PBUH for confessing there sins... what does that mean ISLAM is wrong?
And moreover your mullahs are in line now these jihadis will have to suffer from a great loss in this world why because ALLAH doesnot give right for calling Non muslim to anyone who recite KALMAYE TAYABA but your mullahs think they have more knowledge then ALLAH (NAUZUBILLAH). So sooner or later they will get to know.........
