Yonkers’ Cultural Group to Host First Annual Beauty Pageant
YONKERS, NY -- Dominican Pride will be felt in the city of Yonkers on Sunday, May 11th as the Yonkers Dominican Cultural Association (ACDY) crowns for the first time “Miss Westchester Dominican Beauty”.
The Pageant, in its first year, was open to all bilingual girls of Dominican descent, ages 14-19 and residents of Westchester County. The participants will be evaluated on academic achievement, cultural identity, community involvement, presence and talent.

Assemblyman Michael J. Spano will crown the young lady that is selected as the Pageant Queen.
Sponsors of the event include GHI, El Sol Spanish-language Newspaper, Foodtown Supermarket, Bella’s Boutique, Westchester Time Tribune, and Elizabeth’s Modeling Studio.
In honor of Mother’s Day, all mothers will receive a special recognition at this event to be held at the Ukrainian Grand Ballroom, 301 Palisade Avenue, Yonkers. The event will begin at 2:00 pm. You may purchase tickets by calling (914) 447-8266 or (914) 423-6402.
The Dominican Cultural Association of Yonkers, Inc. is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization founded on June 10, 2003 with sole purpose of assisting the needs of the community by facilitating debates on problems affecting the community, educating the community on their role in the social and economic development of society, creating a mechanism that showcases our valuable culture and advocate for the solution of problems pressing the community.
