The Department will hold its Annual Police Awards and Memorial Ceremony at the Police and Fire Memorial site on North Broadway on Tuesday May 13, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday May 16, 2008 the Yonkers Police Museum will be open for tours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The museum is located at Police Headquarters, 104 South Broadway.

On Saturday May 17, 2008 the Yonkers Police Department will be holding a free Child Seat Check and VIN Etching Event from 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. at the first precinct, 730 East Grassy Sprain Road. Call to pre-register at 377-7477.

Specially trained and certified police officers will inspect car seats for participants in the Child Safety Seat program to determine whether the car seats meet federal and state safety guidelines and are correctly installed. Officers will make corrections as needed and show parents how to install their car seats correctly. A limited amount of car seats are available at no expense to participants who meet specific economic guidelines.

VIN etching deters auto theft by permanently etching a vehicle’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into the vehicle’s glass; if the vehicle is stolen, its glass cannot be used on another vehicle. Participants in the VIN Etching program may be eligible for a discount on their car insurance.

maybe class time with lessons in civility would be more valuable.

call Ms Edmonson when you need help. If you dont like the service , dont call at all!

perhaps the "people" who are shooting, raping, robbing and drug dealing should attend those classes, for those are not nice things to do.

You guys are really obsessed with "Ms. Edmonson" for some reason. Girlfriend's gotta do what she has to (nothing personal fellas :-).

Too bad she has to do the job that lame ass men in this City ignored for decades.
