distinguished member of the New York State Police for more than two
decades,” said Governor Paterson. “He has served with distinction
throughout his career in law enforcement and has demonstrated a vast
array of skills and abilities as both a top administrator and a field
commander.”
Colonel Corbitt said: “It is a tremendous honor to be nominated to the
position of Superintendent of the New York State Police. The men and
women of the State Police, both troopers and civilians, are the most
dedicated people of any organization that I have ever been associated
with. We will work diligently together to provide outstanding service
to the citizens of the state of New York.”
Colonel Corbitt was a member of the New York State Police for more than
25 years before his retirement in 2004. He joined the New York State
Police in 1978 and served as a State Trooper in Troop E until 1984. In

Sergeant. Colonel Corbitt was then promoted to the position of
Lieutenant and served with the Traffic Services Section at Division
Headquarters and the State Police Academy. He was then promoted to
Captain in 1991 and Major in 1993. As Major, he was the commanding
officer of Troop T of the New York State Thruway. In 1994, Corbitt was
promoted again, becoming Staff Inspector for Employee Relations
focusing on the issue of racial profiling. He also served as Lieutenant
Colonel and rose to the rank of Colonel when he became the Deputy
Superintendent for Employee Relations in 1997. In 2001 Colonel began
serving as the Deputy Superintendent in charge of the Internal Affairs

Things are so bad in Albany that Paterson brings a guy out of retirement to run the state police? That is not encouraging. Does Paterson have this guy on a leash or something? It doesn't look right.
Paterson isn't out of the woods yet, with his own affairs and other problems. The hotel bills and other purchases charged to his campaign continue to mount. Impeachment or resignation is possible if he can't answer for all of it.

Paterson keeps confessing to things. Yesterday he talked aboout using cocaine a few times years ago. Paterson's been in office a week, and the whole time has been spent with him 'fessing up to this and that. He might not last. He acts like an unqualified clown who doesn't belong in a job as important as governor.

Did he try to pin the cocaine use on his poor wife too?
"yeah I had a run there when I was blowing an 8-ball a night up my nose, but it was only in response to my wife's cocaine use."

The Democratic Party reminds me of the Irish joke:At Sunday mass the priest, as the village parish custom, asks someone to get up and say a good word for Mike Murphy a real hated guy in the village, who passed away that week.No one gets up to say a good word and the priest says he will stop the mass if no one gets up to say a kind word. An old guy stands up and says,"His brother was worse."New Yorkers thought the Republicans were bad, but the Democrats are worse, almost beyond words.

County, state and national, the Democrats are showing themselves to be worse than the Republicans. Spitzer, Paterson, and McGreevey are three examples. Now the Democratic mayor of Detroit is indicted, and former mayor Sharpe James in Newark is in big trouble.
Democrat Ernie Davis looks to be in trouble soon in Mt. Vernon. More indictments likely will be coming there. The Dems in the Westchester Legislature are also in trouble over spending etc. The Dems in Greenburgh have a huge tax increase on the table. Etc., Etc.

Most of YPD make more than the Supt of State Police? Very sad.

This state has become a cesspool of liberal stupidity, wasteful spending, and corruption. It's time to get back to the fiscal conservatism and conservative principles that made this state a good place to live years ago.

Fascists like Democrat Hillary Clinton who took the FBI files of her political opponents. Fascist like the Democrat Spitzer, who used the state police to create false evidence against Senator Bruno.

AG Andrew Cuomo still covering up Trooper Gate.No state polce officers involved in filing false reports going to jail.No Spitzer aides conspiring with state police officials going to jail.Former Governor Spitzer who engineered the criminal conspiracy, not going to jail.New York State government is a disgrace.
