This obscene and joke bill Bush, McCain and Ted The Swimmer Kennedy etc. are trying to sneak through is going nowhere in a hurry. DOA.
There is a don't miss column today from Kris Kobach which can be found under Opinions in www.nypost.com. It's called "Rewarding Lawbreakers." It sums up this absurdity very accurately.

all illegals should be sent packing!!
Posted by: | May 21, 2007 at 17:16
All immigrants should be sent home and this country would then end up empty...

FYI---This number of 12 million illegals being thrown around is unadulterated b.s. Any agent with ICE will tell you (if he's being candid) that the number is probably twice that -- right now.
There is no need for new laws. Just enforce the ones already there. Which is one of several reasons why what's going on now in D.C. is a sham.
Build a 700 mile-fence (properly constructed.) A fence has already been approved, but has not been funded. Then double the size of the Border Patrol, dry up the job market by busting and heavily fining all those who employ illegals -- and the flood of illegal immigration will decrease to a trickle.
Without the slave-labor jobs and extremely low pay, on their own the illegals will go home, where they belong. Those who pretend otherwise are lying and also are promoting what is essentially slave labor.
Hear that Jose? You and your Dem buddies are nothing more than promoters of slavery. But so are McCain and others like him...and Bush, who was good his first term but has been a disaster since.
Let's not talk about the fake Rudy or Hillary, either. Rudy has BIG problems with this one, and Hillary never stands for anything at all. She is a weather vane.
Greg Ball is right. But take the gloves off, Greg. The vast majority is sick and tired of this invasion of America and the huge strain on social services and the decline of the American culture. Keep the Third World in the Third World.
That is the truth of it. Those sneaking into America are not doctors, scientists and other professionals. They are the drop-outs and lower class individuals. America can't take of its own problems. It doesn't need and just can not handle those of other countries, as well. Keep the Third World in the Third World.
If not, before too long the US will become another Third World country itself.

Does the above poster know the difference between immigrant and illegal alien? Duh
Posted by: | May 22, 2007 at 08:38
Duh...YES. The real number of illegal immigrants is closer to 20-24 million than it is to 12 million. That is ILLEGAL immigrants, illegal aliens.

Verizon Cable Service: Are they planning to start a news program for Westchester similiar ( and hopefully way better ) to News 12 ???

JOSE CAN YOU SEE? NO.
To the surprise of few, Jose is sounding like a dope on Hezi's program right now. 100 years ago, we were still trying to "grow" the USA. We had many, many millions fewer citizens than now. Less than 100 million in the Ellis Island days. Compare that to almost 300 million now, not counting illegals.
The social services support systems in the US are already collapsing. Social Security itself is on the brink of failure. Hospitals, schools, are overburdened. Taxes are through the roof as Americans are paying the bills for the illegals. American citizens and their families are being hurt economically by this flood of illegals. Some are even being murdered.
This "nation of immigrants" line is over and done. It is false to try to use it now. It was a nation of LEGAL immigrants many years ago. They had to be screened, and to be checked out for diseases, etc. And then they had to assimilate, to learn English and fit in. Today's tide is ILLEGAL. And far too many of them are criminals in the first place.
And they do not want to assimilate. They want things their way, including language concessions. That they are getting them is abominable.
The illegals are the lowest classes, and offer nothing to America. It's not America's responsibility to damage itself irreperably by letting itself be overrun by the world's poor. No one else does it, and they are right not to.
On the other hand, Britain, France and some other Eurpopean countries are having serious problems with the many Islamists they allowed in.
Back in the USA, this "doing the jobs Americans don't want to do" line is another myth. Pay the proper wages and Americans will be glad to do the jobs.
And public schools should teach ENGLISH as a first language, not as a second language. In general, illegal conduct cannot be rewarded in a nation of laws, while at the same time penalizing those who have waited for years to enter America legally.
No big new plan is needed. This is hocus-pocus to fool the public.
Enforce the laws which already exist. Build the fence, add all the border partol agents that are needed--and dry up the job market by prosecuting and lifting the licenses of any businesses or contractors who hire illegals. Doing that will grealy reduce this serious problem.

Rick Montes, who is running for the County legislature in Putnam, made pefect sense on the program. But Yonkers' own Jose Alvarado made no sense.
Hezi and Audrey didn't appear to be buying Jose's pap either.
Colonel, don't know about Verizon. Probably not immediately. But right now Channel 19 (RNN) has teamed up with the JN to do a news broadcast. It's still finding its way. But if it realizes its biggest audience is in Yonkers and pays more attention to Yonkers, it could make a serious dent in Snooze 12.
Verizon itself already has Cablevision scared. That's why all those "Only Cablevision Has Snooze 12" and Rose-Conybeare promos.
People with Cablevision's Optimum on Line internet service say its new home and news pages have REMOVED the Journal News as a convenient news link. That's a cheesy reaction to RNN and its partnership with the JN for TV news, but that's Cablevision and Snooze 12.
Competition is a good thing. Now if only the Journal News also could be hit with some serious competition.

Wonderful posting above and remember the rift created between illegals and American blacks pushed out of jobs for lower wage earners. This is the result of greedy Americans wanting cheap labor. This was part the long standing anger during the LA Riots, but of course the media won't dare mention that.
Watch for our local hospitals to get overburdened when many close in the Bronx and NYC. It's already hard to get a bed at St. John's Riverside after Yonkers General closed. United Hospital in Port Chester went under after too many illegals could not pay their bills.
Both political parties are to blame:
Dems want minority votes and love to kiss ass, Republicans want dirt cheap labor..

Very true Colonel. Very true. It is extremely important not to fall for the line of garbage being fed the public by the likes of the Journal News, NY Times, etc.
Anyone notice how bad the traffic is in many places these days? The roads were not built for all the cars around now. Some of that is due to extravagance, with three cars in some families. But it is a fact that some of it also is because there are so many illegals on the roads. With no insurance, no licenses, and no right to be driving at all.
They should take the Greyhound bus to Laredo or Nogales--and then go back where they came from.
Posted by: | May 22, 2007 at 11:33
To the above...you are so right about illegals and bogus car registrations.
It's amusing to see so many cars with plates from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Michigan, and the old standby, Pennsylvania where the fools privatized their DMV making it so easy for out of state residents to register.
A majority of the ever increasing hit and runs are attributable to illegals driving and that is a fact. Good luck finding the car's "owner" in North Carolina.

Illegals account for a lot of DWIs too. But we don't hear M.A.D.D. shouting to get the illegals off the roads. That wouldn't be politically correct. The entire Democratic-Liberal position on the illegals is a farce.
But they do have some co-conspirators in the Republican ranks who are aligned with businesses wanting cheap labor. Slave labor.
The best thing to do right now is to call and/or e-mail the White House, and key members of Congress and the Senate to make it clear this proposed new bill is not even close to acceptable.

anyone who thinks you can uproot 12 million
residents who over the years have migrated
to the US even though their status is
illegal and against current law ..is
asking for the impossible...surely you
guys are more creative than that.or is
everything just that simple?
Posted by: lost in yonkers | May 22, 2007 at 15:36
It's not easy but it's do-able. There is more to it, but here are a few steps:
1. Take away the jobs by enforcing current law. Make it clear that you will prosecute, heavily fine and suspend indefinitely the business licenses of any employers who hire illegals. Without jobs, many illegals will leave.
2. Let it be known that hospital emergency rooms do not exist to serve as their private doctors, ultimately at the expense of US citizens.
3. Make this one official and enforce it ---taxpayers don't want to pay the freight for their kids in public schools.
4. Any illegal arrested for any crime --- either a misdemeanor, felony or even a violation will be reported ASAP to ICE. Many have false IDs as it is. That is a crime right there. No more "sanctuary cities."
5. Crack down on all illegal homes and apartment buildings, which are fire traps anyway and nests for illegals. Strongly enforce occupancy laws.
6. Build the 700-mile fence---a double-fence, at that. Make it secure enough so no one can tunnel under it and high enough they can't climb over it.
7. Double the amount of Border Agents.
Do whatever is necessary and legal to take away the "Welcome" Mat. Pay American workers reasonable wages and they will glady do many of the jobs illegals were being paid slave wages for doing.

If 12 million taxpayers refused to pay their taxes, you can bet they would round them up in a New York minute.

This proposed bill is now being read and it is a mind-blowing train wreck.
Any bill that involves the lifelong drunk Ted Kennedy, the erratic, possibly unstable and self-righteous John McCain and the smarmy Lindsey Graham had to be bad. But this is atrocious. It is irresponsible beyond belief. It will never pass. Bush himself has lost what little credibility he had left. And the same goes for all the liberal press and other poltical supporters of this trash bill.
Ted Kennedy, who abandoned a girl to drown, but not in the Rio Grande, has been involved in all the bad immigration legislation going back to '65. Where is THAT analysis in the media?
Fred Thompson, who probably will run for president, said the Washington politicians have no credibility left. Tonight on CNN, Lou Dobbs did a poll and his viewers agreed with Thompson by an astonishing 97 percent to 3 percent.
All the spninners in the media, LOCAL and national, and all the sleazy pols, should take note of that. The public is not as dumb as you think.

MT. KISCO ILLEGAL CASE AND CAPPELLI'S
ARTWORK--PROBLEMS FOR JOURNAL NEWS
According to today's JN, two witnesses
are saying the dead Rene Perez was
still alive and OK when Mt. Kisco cops
left. One witness says Perez had
already been complaining his stomach hurt
BEFORE Mt. Kisco PD arrived.
Right now, and once again, the JN looks
foolish for trying to hang this on Mt.
Kisco cops for weeks. It could
have been Bedford cops or a civilian
(including another illegal) who did it.
How Perez ended up back in Bedford
also remains a mystery.
But, in another story the Journal
News insults Sherlock Holmes by putting
a magnifying glass on Cappelli's
rendering of the new train station in WP.
Yes, they actually used a magnifying glass
to try and count black people in a rendition.
Bury this paper very deep, please.

The Journal News is a sick joke. Up above, Lost in Yonkers sounds like a condescending elitist snob.

what is the Mayor's Position on Immigration? what is the 6 figure Special Assistant to the MAyor on Hispanic Issues Position?

Read Joseph Santo's "Community View" in today's Journal Snooze, if you can stop laughing at the Capelli artwork article.
Santo did a good commentary on illegals. It is called "Provide For Our Own, Not Illegal Immigrants."
It should be required reading for the likes of Lost in Guatemala...Yonkers.

Lost in Yonkers has ducked out of this one. He must be having tea and crumpets with Ted Kennedy. Which one of you is driving, Mike E.?
